Study Abroad

I studied abroad through the University of Minnesota's Language and Culture in Southern France program. Linked is my reflection from my time spent in Montpellier, France. Additionally on this page you will find some photos and descriptions of my abroad activities. In particular, linked to the right is my internship capstone essay. Through this essay, I reflected on my time at Les Aramons foyer and analyzed the differences between the French and American health systems, particularly in how they pertain to care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The two systems are drastically different overall, and it was very interesting to see the French side of things as I have been involved with Clemson LIFE, Clemson's transitional schooling program for individuals with intellectual disabilities, since I arrived at Clemson my freshman year!

Activities

Through my abroad experience, I was lucky to make lifelong bonds through amazing the highs and lows of European exploration and silly American blunders. My friends and I visited 15 cities across 5 countries in our short 5 month stay. Highlights included visiting the Livraria Lello in Porto, Portugal, Montmartre in Paris, and the Vatican city in Rome. I was also able to view my all time favorite painting,  La Primavera, which is housed in Florence, Italy at the Uffizi Gallery.
